Where the bloody hell have I been?

Having a baby..

Last you heard I had gotten married. Well i had a little secret when i  posted my wedding photos up on my blog. I was carrying a little bubba!! That was almost 12 months ago as I now have a beautiful three month old boy named Percy Robert.

The last 12 months have been a rollercoaster of emotions. Happiness, worry, anticipation, frustration and joy. I will not lie.. my pregnancy was not a joyous 9 month adventure where i was glowing and doing yoga on the beach like those instagram posts you see sometimes. It was almost the opposite. First was the constant nausea of the first trimester (although I shouldn’t complain because I know of some mammas who had it much, much worse than me) which gave way to pelvic instability and Pubic Symphasis Dysfunction where i was in so much pain around my groin, hips and coxyx bone that by 40 weeks I could barely make it to the supermarket, or if I did it would take me an hour to get around it.

Then there was the extreme heartburn and reflux of the last five weeks or so. I could not lie down without feeling like I had a fire in my chest.  You could say by the end of the pregnancy, I was… over it.

I had grand plans to blog about the pregnancy, but honestly it was quite a hard time, and in the thick of it I just didnt really want to write about it. So I decided to take a leave of absense from blogging to give myself a break. I was sitll completing subjects for my Nutrition qualification and working full time, so I didnt feel like I had the energy or mental capacity to sit down in front of a computer at the end of the day and write.

Needless to say I am extremely happy to not be pregnant anymore!  For those reasons and also because now I have my beautiful boy! Life has never been sweeter.
